# Email Journey Designer
> Builds data-driven email sequences that turn subscribers into loyal customers.
## Before We Begin
I need to understand your specific situation before I can help effectively. Please answer these questions:
### Discovery Questions
1. **Product/Service:** What specific product or service is this email sequence for? What makes it unique in the market?
2. **Target Audience:** Describe your ideal customer in detail. What are their biggest challenges, goals, and motivations?
3. **Primary Objective:** What is the single most important action you want a subscriber to take after completing this sequence (e.g., purchase a product, book a demo, upgrade their plan)?
4. **Brand Voice:** How would you describe your brand's personality and tone of voice (e.g., professional, witty, empathetic, authoritative)?
5. **Existing Assets:** What relevant content or resources do you already have that we can leverage (e.g., blog posts, case studies, webinars, testimonials)?
6. **Key Hesitations:** What are the most common objections or reasons for hesitation that prevent people from buying from you?
7. **Success Metrics:** How will you measure the success of this email sequence? What are your key performance indicators (KPIs)?
## What This Skill Does
Lifecycle Messaging Architect is designed to help you create sophisticated, automated email campaigns that guide subscribers through every stage of their relationship with your brand. It moves beyond generic email blasts to construct personalized journeys that feel like a one-on-one conversation, building trust and driving action.
The core philosophy is to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time. By understanding your business, audience, and goals, this skill designs a logical flow of communication that nurtures leads, onboards new users, and retains existing customers. It focuses on providing genuine value first, ensuring that your audience is receptive and engaged before presenting an offer.
This skill will produce a complete email sequence plan, including the strategic purpose of each email, the core message, the call-to-action, and draft copy. It also incorporates advanced strategies to maximize performance, such as behavioral branching and A/B testing recommendations.
## Core Methodology
This skill is built on a foundation of proven marketing principles, all rewritten to work in concert for modern email automation.
### The Customer Dialogue Flow
Instead of a rigid, one-way funnel, this approach maps the email sequence to a natural conversation. It considers the subscriber's stage of awareness—from problem-aware to solution-aware—and delivers content that logically moves them to the next step. The goal is to answer their questions, address their concerns, and build their confidence in your solution.
### Value-First Communication
A core tenet of this methodology is that you must give before you ask. The sequence is structured so that the majority of emails (roughly 80%) are focused on providing value through education, insights, and entertainment. The remaining 20% are dedicated to direct calls-to-action and sales-oriented messages, which are far more effective when you've earned the subscriber's trust.
### Content Pillar Sequencing
To keep the sequence engaging, this skill rotates through different types of content. Rather than sending the same kind of message every day, it strategically mixes in different formats like tutorials, customer success stories, myth-busting articles, personal anecdotes, and behind-the-scenes looks at your business. This variety prevents list fatigue and appeals to different reader preferences.
## Advanced Capabilities
This skill goes beyond the basics with these expert-level features:
### Dynamic Copy Generation
This skill doesn't just provide a high-level outline; it generates professionally written draft copy for each email in the sequence. This includes compelling subject lines, engaging opening hooks, persuasive body content, and clear calls-to-action. The copy is tailored to your brand voice and the strategic goal of each email, giving you a massive head start on implementation.
### Behavioral Branching Logic
To create a truly personalized experience, this skill designs conditional "if-then" logic into your email sequence. For example, if a subscriber clicks a link about a specific feature, they can be automatically moved into a sub-sequence that provides more information on that topic. If they don't open a critical email, the system can automatically resend it with a different subject line. This ensures that each subscriber follows a path that is most relevant to their actions and interests.
### A/B Testing Framework
To ensure your sequence is optimized for performance, this skill provides a built-in A/B testing plan. For each key email, it will suggest specific elements to test, such as different subject lines, offers, or button copy. It also provides a simple framework for how to run the test and measure the results, enabling you to continuously improve your campaign's effectiveness over time.
## How to Use This Skill
1. **Answer the Discovery Questions:** Provide clear and detailed answers to the seven questions at the beginning. The more context you provide, the more tailored and effective the resulting sequence will be.
2. **Invoke the Skill:** Simply ask the agent to run the "Lifecycle Messaging Architect" skill.
3. **Review and Customize:** The skill will deliver a complete markdown file containing your email sequence plan. Review the strategy, copy, and advanced recommendations. Customize the copy to perfectly match your brand and offer.
4. **Implement:** Upload the finalized sequence into your email marketing platform.
### Example Prompts
- "Create a 7-day email sequence to onboard new trial users for my SaaS product."
- "Build a lead nurturing sequence for people who downloaded my ebook on digital marketing."
- "Generate a 5-part email mini-course to sell my online fitness program."
## Output Format
The final output will be a comprehensive markdown document (`.md`) that details your complete email sequence. It will include the overarching strategy, a breakdown of each email (purpose, core message, CTA), full draft copy for every email, and the recommended advanced capabilities. This document will serve as a complete blueprint for you to implement in your email marketing software.
